Prix Pictet Award 2009
Kofi Annan, honorary president of the Prix Pictet, awarded the 2009 prize worth £60,000 to the British based photographer Nadav Kander at the Passage de Retz in Paris yesterday, for his series Yangtze, The Long River.Of Kander’s work, Annan said, “that the photographs were a compelling call for action to tackle climate change, the most serious humanitarian and environmental challenge facing the world today.”
